Even during the crazy 2020 pandemic the 40 finalists were lucky enough to share their work with the public in the NYC exhibition. Thank you to all the friends and family who made it out to see the ears and the other 39 incredible figurative art pieces included in the show. I can’t express how much it means a lot to me. Congratulations to all those involved and I hope to be able to participate again next year!

New AXA Art Prize Exhibition Space

AXA Art Prize has partnered with Art City to create a new virtual space where you can see the 40 finalists in the 2020 AXA Art Prize. The show will be up until November 5th so check it out while you can. The in person viewing is still happening in NYC this November but if you can’t make it, this is a phenomenal way to see the work!

Year Two at NYAA

This marks the beginning of my second year at the New York Academy of Art. As I was moving all of my paintings and blank canvases into my studio I couldn’t help but reflect on the fact that this is my last first day of school. The uncertain climate feels somehow appropriate as I enter into this unknown territory of preparing to leave behind a life of student behavior. I’m beginning to dip my toes into the vast unknown of the art world and I have just eight months to get ready. I know it’s going to go by quickly but with any luck I’ll make a few nice paintings in the process.
